Commonwealth games

Reading Blog post

We have been practising using the ‘Get it, Sort it, Use it’ inquiry method in our reading. You have all done a lot of reading about the commonwealth games as your get it.

Now it is use it time… you need to create a kahoot ( using your questions and answers from the sort it.

Task: use the ‘get it, sort it, use it’ model of inquiry to find out about the commonwealth games and share what we have learned.

WALT: use our prior knowledge to help us understand what we read.  (Get it)
WALT: Summarise what we read to help us understand what we read.   (Get it and Sort it)
WALT: use what we have learned from our reading. (Use it)

Success Criteria
ü 10 questions
ü Only one correct answer per question
ü Clear questions (not ambiguous)
ü Image matches the question

Reflection Questions

I followed the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process by. Geeting imfofmashon and making my quishtons make sence.

My next step when I use the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process is to get more imfofmashon from the web.

The fun part of the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process was by doing the get it proces because I liked searching the web.

You have thought about your learning and used your reading strategies to help as you read to make meaning and grow your understanding and knowledge. You and your group worked to create a kahoot and we had fun using them in class to check our understanding about the Commonwealth Games. I am pleased you enjoyed the 'get it', I love finding out new stuff too.
Remember when reflecting and thinking about your learning to add more details and go a little deeper, adding a 'because' to your ideas might help. Reflecting about your learning helps you to grow as a learner, to think about what was tricky and to set goals.

Housing Inquiry

WALT:  Gather Information

Description: Every Wednesday we have been learning about the inquiry process while finding out about different houses around the world. First we chose a question and then researched to find the answer to our question. Our question was ‘What are houses like in Asia and why are they like this? Each group had to pick a country and inquiry into what their houses are like, present their findings in a Haiku Deck and then build their house in Minecraft.

I think i am Emergent because i havent found much information.

1. What are you most proud of? I am proud of my minecraft project

2. What did you find challenging? I found challengeing the inquiry post

3.  My next ‘Get It’ goal is? to do the little inquiry better.

Fractions Baking

I baked a triple chocolate brownie. We cut the brownie in 1/2 which made 2 pieces, but they were TOO big. So we then cut each 1/2 in 1/2 again and that gave us 4 pieces or 1/4's. This was still TOO big. Each 1/4 was then cut into 2 giving us 12 pieces or 1/12ths but the pieces were still TOO big so we cut them in 1/2 again and got 24 pieces. These were just right and I then had a piece for pudding,, yum, yum, yum - Perfect √😋
